I could have written 37 Women’s History Month Blog posts today, but instead… I want to make sure that the girls (especially MOMs) are aware that fashion is attainable at any price point and in any country.
The empty bag pictured above is Balenciaga. I learned more about Balenciaga after their partnership with Kim Kardashian. (…No disrespect to Kim, but my #1 favorite Kardashian is Kris and No… I’m not sorry about it.) I saw people wearing the sneakers and sweaters and wanted to know more about the brand. While I enjoy a nice bag … or in all honesty… a VERY NICE Bag…. Equality is most important.
I’m really into Fashion … so take everything you read on this blog with a grain of salt and do your own research. I was taught by the women in my family that OPULENCE is LUXURY. However, affordability is subjective. Like most of the women I know who are seriously into fashion, I have always believed that it is important to KNOW what you wear. Don’t just put on a label because it is a label.
I have followed the work of Emma Grede for a very long time. Many people have such negative opinions about the Kardashians that they don’t know that one of the masterminds behind the brand is a black woman (maybe mixed… I honestly don’t know) from London. Good American is a fashion brand and denim company for women of all shapes and sizes. Most of us know of it because it is also Khloe’s brand. But… I also read MAGAZINES. So… today is the day we all stop assuming that fashion is born, bred, and only relevant in the United States. It is not.
Not everything is for everybody. Everything that I own is attainable, but it may not be for you. You may not like it enough to buy it, or you may like it but not care to have it. Either way, it is your decision to make.
AFFORDABLE LUXURY BAGS
There are more than enough affordable and cost-friendly luxury handbags that you can walk into a store and buy. For example, you can always look in stores like Target, Walmart, Macys, Saks Off5th, TJMaxx, Marshalls and Nordstrom Rack.

Coach is also a very happy medium for affordable luxury handbags. Also, this bag, for example…. ICONIC and under $100. (Note: “ICONIC?!” YES! ICONIC). We don’t all have to agree … but if Andre Leon Talley said a brand is iconic, it is. If VOGUE says a brand is ICONIC it is. I am neither of those people… but on this blog… I say its iconic… so guess what?! It is.
Today, for Women’s History Month… and Emma Grede… let’s all do more research on the things that we wear, buy and diminish, before we decide that one outfit or “lewk” is superior to another. We are so much more than that. Everybody can’t sit front row at a fashion show, or afford to attend one. You can’t rush greatness.
Now …. I’m going to enjoy a very lovely glass of whiskey (…maybe wine) today, because I earned it. Have a nice day! 🙂
